Merly Impressions April 2015 Crop

Hi bloggers,

I recently attended the “April 2015 Merly Impressions crop” where we made a double page spread designed by the very talented Chrissy (details here).

As soon as I saw the sneak peek for this kit I knew I wanted to use photos from our Holiday to Florida, way back in 2007, when we visited the ‘50s Prime Time Cafe at Disney’s MGM Studios, and I’m thrilled with how they look on the layout.

I didn’t finish my layouts on the day (as usual for me) as I was too busy chatting, eating Paul’s amazing cakes, and shopping, so I finished my layouts at home.

Thank You card using Stampin’ Up! “Because I Care” stamp set

Hi bloggers,

I recently acquired the Stampin’ Up! “Because I Care” stamp set and absolutely adore the hydrangea stamp.

There are so many techniques I want to use with this stamp!

For this card I stamped the main design first and then covered it with individual flower heads to create a 3D effect.

I hope you like my card.

Flowers and Butterflies Happy Birthday Card

Hi bloggers,

Today I’d like to share with you a Happy Birthday card.

I dusted down an old PSX stamp and coloured it using Promarkers.

Then I stamped the image again and cut out the butterflies. I coloured them as before and adhered only the body section, lifting the wings to create a 3D effect.

I made a bow from raffia ribbon and attached a button to the centre.
I used a Martha Stewart “punch around the page” set to make the mat and inked the edges with Distress Ink.

I hope you like my card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Bon Jovi Album

Hi bloggers,

I’ve been repeatedly asked to share the Bon Jovi album I made, so today’s the day. Non Bon Jovi fans look away now, but the rest of you: sit back and enjoy! This is an image heavy post and I hold no apologies!

As a “Bon Jovi nut” I’ve been to more concerts than I care to count and I wanted to make an album of just one concert, start to finish. I chose a concert from Manchester (UK) in 2006 during the “Have a Nice Day Stadium tour”.

It’s quite a big album: 12” x 12” in size and 44 pages long (21 doubles, plus front and back pages).

I’ve used various techniques throughout the album including inking, tearing, distressing, shrink plastic, tags and stamping (to create backgrounds as well as embellishments).

I’ve also included memorabilia (ticket, wrist band, guitar picks) and CDs.

For the journaling: I’ve used my computer and done some by hand, used song titles, song lyrics, quotes from Jon, stamps, stickers and alphabet tiles. I’ve also included some hidden journaling and I used paper and vellum from a range of manufacturers.

I hope you enjoyed this post, please feel free to comment.

Happy Easter Card

Hi bloggers,
Happy Easter!

Today I’d like to share a quick and easy Happy Easter card.
The text and eggs are Serendipity stamps and I coloured the eggs with Promarkers. I also used Martha Stewart "punch around the page" punches and Distress ink.
I hope you like my card.
