Rockstar Layout

Hi Bloggers,

Today I'd like to share with you a layout that I made using the PC version of the Cricut Design Studio software.

I made the "music lace" paper by welding images from the Hannah Montana and Indie Art cartridges.

The title "Rockstar" and it's shadow were made by welding letters from the Hannah Montana cartridge.

The doll is from the Paper Dolls cartridge and the clothes are a mixture from Paper Dolls and Everyday Paper Dolls cartridges.
The guitar is from the Hannah Montana cartridge and I used stamps to make the journaling spots.

The music lace paper took quite some time to design, but I think it was worth the effort.
Hope you do too.
Thanks for stopping by.

Robot For a day layout

Hi Bloggers,
Today I'd like to share with you a layout I made of my son after he'd had his face painted.

I stamped a swirl design onto pale blue card using dark blue ink to make the background.
I then scattered cogs and gears around the four corners.

The cogs and gears were designed on my Gypsy using Indie Art and Accent Essentials cartridges.
Some were painted with silver acrylic paint, some were spritzed with a silver mist and some were left plain black.
I also used embossing folders to add texture to some of them.
The large central cog was cut at 11" using the Indie art cartridge and I painted it silver, leaving the shadow black.

The little robot is from the Robotz cartridge and I painted some of the parts silver.

The title was designed on my Gypsy using Robotz, Gypsy Font and Indie Art cartridges. I used glossy accents on the word "robot".

I hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by.

Sewing Theme Layout

Hi Bloggers,

Today I'd like to share a layout I made using the Sewing mends the soul stamps by IndigoBlu and, of course, my Cricut.
This layout is about my nanny (or grandma) who was a most amazing seamstress - so I wanted the layout to have a sewing theme.

The "tape measure" stamp is extremely versatile and I stamped several onto kraft cardstock, then wrapped them around the dress form. I tied another around the neck like a scarf.

I also used some like ribbons and threaded them through the large frame.
The frame, dress form and small flowers were all cut on my Cricut.

I used the thimble border stamp to make the flower in the top left corner of the layout. I cut the thimbles out individually and layered them up like petals.

The cotton reels, scissors, yarn and sewing machine were stamped onto white card and coloured with Promarkers.

I layered lace ribbon and patterned ribbon along the bottom of the layout and added another stamped tape measure.

I wanted my journaling to be hidden so I used a tag (cut with my Cricut) and tucked it behind the photo, adding a small piece of patterned ribbon to the top.

I distressed the edges of the background papers and added a hand sewn border with black thread.

I thoroughly enjoyed playing with these stamps and my Cricut, and I like the way this layout turned out - I hope you like it too!
Thanks for stopping by.
