Butterfly Birthday Card

Hi Bloggers,

Today I would like to share a card with you.

The butterfly was cut using a Tim Holtz die and a cereal box.
I painted all the pieces with Adirondack paint dabbers and, once dry, I applied a coat of Rock Candy distress crackle paint.
Then I covered the body with tiny accent beads and used some wire for the antennae.

I used a Martha Stewart punch-around-the-page to make the decorative mat.
Hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by.

Precious Baby Layout

Hi Bloggers,

I made a layout some time ago with a photo of my son when he was a baby. I've been asked several times for the details so I thought I'd share them with you today.
This is the layout:

I used my Cricut Gypsy to design the large scallop circle with holes on each scallop.
I also used my Cricut Gypsy to design the mats for both the title and the photo.
The letters are from the Plantin SchoolBook cartridge and the two plain circles are from the George and Basic Shapes cartridge, cut at 9 1/2" and 5 1/2".

The pram was cut at 4 1/2" using an image from the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge.
The "lace" on the pram was made using a Martha Stewart border punch. I finished off the pram by adding chalk, glitter, a ribbon bow and adhesive pearls.

I applied dark brown ink to just about every edge of card.

Hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by.

Elegant Dress Card

Hi Bloggers,
The card I want to share today has a gorgeous "dress" stamped image, coloured with Promarkers (I really do neeeeed to buy more of these!).

For the flower and leaves in the bottom left, I used my Cricut and the Mother's Day 2010 cartridge. I used patterned paper, inked the edges and gave them a little shape to add some dimension.

I used my Cricut again for the banner, threading baker's twine through the holes and knotting the ends.

I added a small cluster of flowers in the top right corner adding gems to the centres.

The frame is cut on my Cricut using the Elegant Edges cartridge (I just can't get enough of that one!), and I have used another one of my favourite products - namely "mesh".

Here's a close up of the dress image.

Hope you like my card.
Thanks for stopping by.

Pink Skull Card

Hi Bloggers,
Today I'd like to share a card that I made for my niece's birthday.
I made 2 versions of this card. The first is a "normal" square card.

I cut one of the skull images from the Cricut Indie Art cartridge in hot pink card, then added texture with a Tim Holtz embossing folder.

The "Happy Birthday" greeting is stamped in black ink onto white card with inked edges.

I embossed the background card with another Tim Holtz embossing folder, and inked it slightly with black ink. I also used ink on the doily.

To give my card more of a grungy feel, I added mesh to the background, pulling it apart slightly.

The second version of this design is an "easel" style card.

The letters were cut with my Cricut using the Storybook cartridge.

I adore this skull shape and have used it in all sorts of projects.

Happy Birthday Cards

Hi Bloggers,
More cards for you today - I think I'm getting a little obsessed!!
This card started with an Inkadinkado stamp. I used Promarkers to colour the cupcake (or "bun" as I call it), candle and streamers, matching the colours to my background papers.

The frame was cut with my Cricut using the Elegant Edges cartridge and embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder.
I also tied some pieces of yellow twine around the frame.
I cut a ribbon strip from the patterned paper for an embellishment and added 3 buttons in the top right corner.

I love the versatility of stamps and couldn't resist making another card, but this time I used more pink base colours and a slightly different frame.
I'm not sure which I prefer, what about you?

Thanks for stopping by.

Boy Birthday card

Hi Bloggers,
I've used another gorgeous lili of the Valley stamp for my card today. I just love this little fella!!

I used Promarkers to colour the image, matching the colours to my background papers, and a text stamp for the greeting.

I cut the frame on my Cricut using the Holiday Cakes cartridge and used some of the cut out stars as extra embellishments.

Hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by.

Steampunk Card

Hi Bloggers,

I'm having a run on cards at the moment and thought I'd share a steampunk one I made using one of my favourite stamps (by Kanban).

I used Promarkers to colour in the image.
The mat is a piece of patterned paper, embossed with a Tim Holtz embossing folder, and highlighted with distress ink in Walnut Stain.

The cogs were cut with my Cricut using the Paper Lace 2 cartridge.
I cut them all from black card. Then I covered one with a gold embossing powder and two with Vintage Photo distress embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by.
